Allow Me To Not Help

What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.

Typically I like being questioned. I assume the person asking has taken an interest in me and I’m elated to share because I’d consider myself a fairly interesting person, right? But there’s ONE question that triggers me in the worst way. It’s not the question itself but it’s the timing in which I’m asked.

For example, a few years ago my older brother was in a major motorcycle accident that left him clinging to his life for days so of course naturally people reached out offering their help and support. It’s much appreciated yes but then there are those people that ask “Are you okay?”

Despite being visibly “NOT OKAY” being asked that question while grieving is dumb and it makes me want to crumble when I’m trying my best not to.

Ready, Set GROW!

What experiences in life helped you grow the most?

The people I surrounded myself with aided in my growth more than anything. Even in my most influential years, I gravitated towards good people or people who inspired me in some way shape or form.

The experiences I had with these people catapulted me in directions I don’t think I would’ve gone in had it not been for them.

ACTION !

You’re writing your autobiography. What’s your opening sentence?

“It all started in the spirit realm when I was choosing my parents…”

Ya know, because I don’t want to miss any details.

Farewell

What is the biggest challenge you will face in the next six months?

Losing dead weight and I mean that literally and figuratively. I wish to officially shed old habits that keep me stagnant and people who are comfortable being just that.

Most may agree that letting go of things and/or people you once had affections for is hard.

I think that such tasks are hard only because of the memories that are attached.

In the next 6 months I hope to gather the courage to release what isn’t for me and receive what is, fully.

As She Was

What advice would you give to your teenage self?

Simply and ever so sweetly I’d tell her to be selfish. Maybe not forever but, right now.

Be selfish

I’d try my best to convince her to focus MOST of her attention and energy only on the things that mattered at the time like school and hobbies; leaving whatever time left to spend with people who love her.

Upon successfully convincing her to be selfish, I’d advise her to start going to therapy. After telling her all the reasons she needs it, she realize it’s best and she’ll heal the heart she never realized was broken.

Shifting Butterflies 🦋

What bores you?

🎶Ladidadida🎶

This is typically what my brain starts doing once I become bored, and/or my attention has shifted. As a person recently diagnosed with ADHD, that’s often and easily.

On the flip side, capturing my attention is rather easy, it’s holding it that is the hard part.

For example, I was listening to a peer talk about something and in the beginning I was really interested in what was being said but in my head they weren’t getting to the point fast enough so my attention shifted and I zeroed in on the surrounding noise, the piece of paper I saw on the floor and the people walking by. Then all of sudden all I heard was noise and nothing of what he said. I was embarrassed when he began looking for feedback. I had nothing.

According to a 2020 study ADHD and boredom are indeed linked.

So in short probably everything, eventually.

Master of a Masterpiece

Who are your favorite people to be around?

Ahhhh what a lovely question. Let’s dive right in:

My ABSOLUTE favorite people to be around are people who create their own happiness. I mean the ones who reeeally understand the power they have over their thoughts and actions then use it to cultivate a life they love.

Those people know that no one is coming to “save them” from themselves so they don’t wait for external factors to come to the rescue. They learn to craft not perfection but a masterpiece they are proud and let’s not forget protective of. My favorite people become their own hero’s in their own story’s and the others? Well, they tend to become the villain in theirs.

The Brightest Light

If there was a biography about you, what would the title be?

It would be titled:

“The Brightest Light”

It would start from the very beginning describing my parents and the environment I was raised in. It would go into detail about my trials and tribulations and how I triumphantly came out on top despite of.

Of course my many successes would be highlighted including the testimonies from all the people I encountered in my lifetime. They’d beautifully describe how I made them feel and/or how I impacted their life.

I’d like it to be as real and authentic as possible so the outliers should be included. They’d probably drag me from their heart straight to the pits of hell but hey, just because I’m a good person doesn’t mean I’m perfect.

But in the end of it all it would be a masterpiece. Probably one of the greatest stories ever told about one of the greatest people to ever exist.

Yale Street Lovers

What were your parents doing at your age?

My parents were doing life together with two children at my age but not really “together.” They were married but not “married.” They owned a home and my mom was a stay at home wife.

Everything else is HIS/HERstory.

Dream Vs Reality

What’s your dream job?

That’s easy.

My dream job is to never have to work a job! I’d like to just exist in a field of berries and other homegrown deliciousness while my husband chops wood and our kids explore the forest.

Buuuut since I’m closely connected to reality (sometimes) and I have to pick one for the sake of the prompt, I’ll go with NASA Scientist… OR environmental scientist working for the EPA.

To be a part of some sort of discovery or protection team would be a dream come true. I am after all an absolute visionary and humanitarian.
