What matters, matters.

What’s a topic or issue about which you’ve changed your mind?

I change my mind like i change my clothes. Consistently.

About everything.

Specifically when it comes to social constructs, I don’t cling very tightly to them or the ideas and beliefs associated with them because I think they’re only used to try to understand oneself and the world around us.

I realize I’ve chosen a road less traveled in the sense that I’d rather be alive and present in my human experience than spend my time trying to understand things that aren’t really meant for me to understand.

So In short I guess I’ve changed my mind about, my mind.

  1. You said something that intrigues me…. ” I’d rather be alive and present in my human experience than spend my time trying to understand things that aren’t really meant for me to understand.”

What do you think is something you’re not meant to understand, and why do you think that? I’m very curious as to the thought process behind that statement, if you’re willing to share 🙂

    1. Of course I’ll share. I’ll do my best. Sometimes I say things that only makes sense to me 😂 but I mean I’d rather enjoy my human experience from my reality than to worry about how someone else choose to live and enjoy theirs. There’s a lot of things in this world I don’t understand And sometimes those things include why people chose to live their life the way they do but I don’t make it my business to try and understand because I’m not meant to, it’s their life ya know., not mine. Does that make sense?

      1. Yes, it makes perfect sense, and I tend to agree with not worrying about why someone does something in their own life, especially if it doesn’t harm anyone else. I guess my mind went immediately to understanding things about life in general and how the universe works, which are both things that I think/worry, and perhaps even obsess about. 🙂

What are your thoughts on understanding the universe, from stars to atoms? Do you feel that is something that you (or humanity in general) are not meant to understand? If so, I have to ask my favorite question – why?

      2. Wow this is a deep question but I love it.
As someone who dedicates a lot of their time wondering about the mysteries of the galaxy, the reasons behind our existence, laws of physics, astrology, spirituality and pretty much everything under the metaphysics umbrella; i understand the obsession haha.

I think the people that are wanting to understand are the ones meant to and the ones who could care less-aren’t.

      3. Wow. That is a really interesting way to look at it! I like it!!

Another follow up question, if you don’t mind… 😉 Do you think that human beings are capable of truly understanding the universe?

      4. I do not mind at all 😌

While I do think it’s possible to understand theories, concepts & ideas about the universe, I don’t think the universe is something to “truly” understand. It’s something to be experienced. We are, as Alan Watts say the universe experiencing itself. So I guess we are, learning?

      5. I am inclined to agree.

I also don’t think that humans can perceive existence in its true form, because we have the limitations of our bodies. So how, then can we truly understand something that we are unable to truly perceive? We can, and in my opinion, should, try to understand as much as possible. But we should do so knowing that there is so much more we do not or cannot observe. Just my two cents. 😉
